Our staff, consultants and Board of Directors include public health nurses,
marriage and family therapists, clinical psychologists, diversity specialists,
infant-toddler specialists and child development specialists. We foster and
establish cross-disciplinary collaborations whenever and wherever possible.
CHP offers resources, training, workshops and technical assistance to the
child care community in child abuse prevention, behavioral health, early
child development and other areas that support quality child care.
Staff
Marsha Sherman, MA, MFT , Executive Director
Ms. Sherman has over thirty years of experience in program development, teaching
and training in areas such as behavioral health in child care, communication with
parents, staff development and training, program administration and more. She has
presented over 100 workshops and trainings in California and nationally.
Tarah Fleming, MA, Diversity Specialist
With a background in second-language acquisition, Ms. Fleming has over a decade of
experience in the classroom teaching internationally. She has worked locally as a
teacher trainer focusing on multicultural awareness and developing culturally
inclusive curriculum for all ages. She joined CHP this year to coordinate the
Diversity Project and the production of the video and curriculum, and presents
regularly at local, state and nationwide conferences.
Sara Evinger, Office Manager/Editor
A linguist and musician by training, Ms. Evinger has been with the program since its
inception, serving as Assistant to the Director/Office Manager and Editor.
Caroline Austin, Publications Coordinator
Ms. Austin recently rejoined CHP as the Publications Coordinator. An entrepreneur and
independent consultant currently earning a master practitioner certification, she has
over fifteen years of business administration and computer technology training and
experience.
